On the south side of the Chevy Chase neighborhood is a small collection of shops along Romany Road between Cooper and Providence. The largest store is Kroger’s, one of the few remaining neighborhood sized stores in Lexington. The neighborhood loves it for the ease of access. Items are limited but you cannot beat the speed at which you can get in and out of the store.
There are a few restaurants to choose from. A.P. Suggin’s is a neighborhood staple. Check back soon for a review of this restaurant. Also available is The Tulip, a slightly upscale establishment compared to the laid back, come-as-you-are Suggin’s. The Tulip’s menu has range but beware: their “Lighter Fare” menu includes a half-pound burger and a deep fried mahi mahi.
For a throw-back, visit Wheeler’s Pharmacy. Sit at their lunch counter and enjoy a tasty burger or breakfast.
Serve yourself as much ice cream as you’d like at Orange Leaf to cool your afternoon. This place is wildly popular among all ages. Enjoy your ice cream in or outside.
Also in Romany, you can have your dog cared for at a veterinarian and a groomer’s. You can get a great haircut, get your clothes cleaned, or brighten your smile.
