I hate going out to Fayette Mall. Nicholasville Road traffic is the absolute worst. But when you have the imbibing of English and Scottish beer on tap and indulging in some Kentuckized-English food as your goal, there is no better place to go. Continue reading “The Pub”
We are get new breweries often in Lexington so the introduction of a new one on National went past me quickly. What a miss on my part! Ok, so only by 90 days or so but still! Continue reading “Mirror Twin”
And beer out of a growler is, for some reason, so much better. Maybe it’s the drought versus the canned/bottled flavors. It’s just tastier. Continue reading “I’ll admit it, up front: I like beer”
West Sixth Brewing was one of the first microbreweries Lexingtonians got to enjoy. It sparked a revolution that has resulted in seemingly a new brewery opening every few months. Continue reading “West Sixth”
We went last night. If you weren’t there then you were the only one. It was a blast. So many people, so many choices of food. West 6th selling Amber and IPA. Funnel cakes. BHG foods. Brats. Pizza. Gelato. The Kentucky Ale line was too long so I’m not sure which beers they have.
And thick slices of bacon with a peanut butter dipping sauce. That one, I didn’t try. You’ll have to let me know, it’s not a step I’ll be taking anytime soon… that is unless someone swears by it. Then I’ll try it… because really, how bad can it be. It’s bacon.
Gin Blossoms were last night and tonight is Fastball. There are a few live acts before so come early
Bring cash but not too much since you can get sucked into the gambling and BINGO.
Pretty please, carpool. This is in a residential neighborhood so please be good neighbors.
A new grocery has opened where Winn-Dixie vacated years ago in the shopping center at Virginia and South Broadway. Lucky’s Market is billing itself as the promise of access to organic groceries without the hefty price that makes it unaffordable for many. Continue reading “Lucky’s Market”
Locals’ is continuing development as the newest restaurant to open in the National Avenue neighborhood. The place is looking pretty neat. The building has come a long way since a few months ago, last we posted, and even further from the liquor store that sold to underage teens (not that I would know anything about that…). Got this in the mail yesterday. We’ve already added it to our calendar. Who else will we see there?
