New Restaurant on National Coming Along

Locals’ is continuing development as the newest restaurant to open in the National Avenue neighborhood. The place is looking pretty neat. The building has come a long way since a few months ago, last we posted, and even further from the liquor store that sold to underage teens (not that I would know anything about that…). What We’ve Got Here Is a Failure to Communicate

The space in front of the new branch of Southland Christian on Richmond Road that was once occupied by Perkins had buildings torn down, was flattened, was filled in with dirt, planted with grass, and now is being dug up again. Dig a hole, fill it in.

Wonder what’s happening with it next?

Chinoe Road Kroger

For those of you who shop at the Chinoe Kroger, you’ve probably been annoyed with the construction as much as I have. Luckily the construction should be finished by mid-July.

To those worried about the fate of Romney Kroger after the recent expansion of the Euclid and the Chinoe Krogers, I have been assured by Kroger employees that the Romney Kroger would continue in existence. The thinking is that because so many people like having the small store that they can get in and out of quickly, that Kroger would keep it open. We’ll see how it shakes out.

The Macho Nacho

Macho Nacho
Macho Nacho

The space at the corner of High Street and Euclid is being prepared for a new restaurant. This spot has had trouble staying filled since Buddy’s moved out. The most recent tenant, Glenn’s Creek Beer Exchange, closed a year ago. The Macho Nacho is expected to open in mid-September 2015. Providing Tex-Mex foods to the local populace isn’t anything new but their promised delivery service is. According to their website, the place will be set up as a sports bar inside with 25-30 tvs. Stay tuned for more pictures as the transformation progresses.
